One of my favorite winter time fruits, the pomegranate, has many confirmed health benefits. Pomegranates are very rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and folic acid. These antioxidants:
  • Keep bad LDL cholesterol from oxidizing.
  • Keep blood platelets from clumping together to form unwanted clots.
  • They aid in wound repair and act as an anti-inflammatory agent.
  • They help to slow the wrinkling of the skin.
  • Pomegranate juice appears to prevent the hardening of the arteries and may even help to reverse the progression of this disease.
  • Recent studies also suggest that pomegranate juice may prevent prostate and breast cancers.
